Precision Diagnostics in Ortho-Oncology
In the treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcomas, the first step is the most critical: obtaining a highly accurate tissue diagnosis without compromising future surgical options.
A poorly planned biopsy can severely complicate definitive surgery, sometimes turning a limb-salvage case into an amputation. Dr. Jyoti Prakash expertly performs biopsies using strict oncological principles, ensuring the biopsy tract is perfectly aligned to be excised during the final tumor removal.
Our Staging Process
Once the exact grade and stage of the tumor are confirmed, our multidisciplinary tumor board designs a highly aggressive, targeted treatment plan.
- Core Needle Biopsy: A minimally invasive technique utilizing imaging guidance (Ultrasound/CT) to extract tissue samples with high accuracy and minimal trauma.
- Open Incisional Biopsy: Reserved for complex cases where larger tissue architecture is required by pathologists.
- Comprehensive Systemic Staging: Utilizing PET-CT, whole-body MRI, and bone scans to detect any microscopic metastasis (spread) across the body.
